Turn 5/German - US Defensive Fire Segment

Both stacks fire at the LMG-armed HS with no effect

Turn 5/German - Advancing Fire Segment

The German HS near the Lt MTR fires at the A** stack (another AI mistery: why had it not fired in the Fire Segment? Its low FP would not have been halved [&:])

Turn 5/German - German Rout Segment

The German wounded and broken leader routs in Low Crawl mode towards the last VP hex in German control.

Turn 5/German - Close Combat

The two HS remain locked in melee.

Turn 6/American - US Movement Segment

The units of the C* leader stack move to surround the broken German HS occupying the last VP hex and the broken leader, so as to kill them through Failure to Rout.

The C* leader moves adjacent to the other broken German leader, so as to force it to rout in open terrain (and to be hopefully killed by the A** stack in the next US fire Segment)

Nothing happened during the German Turn 6 and the whole Turn 7, except a one-man counterattack by the German D* leader that spent the whole scenario in the stone building and that probably was the sole German surviving unit.
Despite being targeted by all the US squads, on the first attempt, it was only broken and wounded; it rallied and tried again, but the second time it was eliminated by a 22 FP @ -4 DRM attack.

On a side note, I have a peculiar fondness of the 92nd Infantry Division, as it was the first Allied unit to reach my home town on April 27th, 1945. It eliminated some pockets of hard-core Nazis who refused to surrender and threatened to shell the harbour with coastal guns. The appearance of several M-10s from the 894th TD Bn made them change their minds pretty quickly [:D].

Outstanding AAR to follow being so graphical with explanations, as always. It took me
all seven turns to win so your play was superior. [:)]

I have been lucky: neutralising the German HMG on the first turn and not having to deal with it for the whole game has helped me a lot.
