Embedded artillery question

Post by broccolini »

Is it possible to attack with just the artillery when it is embedded in the Infantry unit?

No, long range equipment can only bombard if the unit has an artillery icon. Note that it's possible for units to have a primary and secondary icon, allowing the player to switch between the two.

Note also that, irrespective of the number of guns in the unit, bombarding will consume the same amount of supply. So if you've got an infantry regiment with an organic battery of four infantry guns, it's probably a bad idea to assign the unit to bombard as it will suck up all the unit's supply for very little effect.
"What did you read at university?"
"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."
