I really appreciate your dedication and hard work. I'm familiar with the travails of coding and can appreciate your skills. I myself like to program using the principle of "Least Astonishment". I need to code to be readable because I frequently find myself wondering what a section of code really does. Sometimes comments are a lifesaver.

And I'm right in the middle of testing the new features and it's a blast to see your changes make things much better. It's not the same game, it's significantly different in subtle ways. Difficult to explain though. You have to be there. I like it a lot. Once or twice an hour the mouse clicks have no effect and I have to reload TOAW completely from the start, rebooting as it were. Other than that I never have a problem.

How does the type of mouse matter? I use a wireless mouse. Does that create issues?

A wireless mouse has to have its batteries replaced regularly. (The reason I avoid them). When their batteries get run-down, issues just like what Larry was describing can crop up. But, even a wired mouse can have wiring issues and cause the same problems.

Took 65 months to get to here!
I am delighted to learn from Curtis Lemay that the update features for The Operational Art of War IV have finally been completed, which is nothing short of a rebirth for this game! However, I am surprised and puzzled that there has been no discussion or schedule set for the release of the BATA test version of the new patch. I hope that our old players' hearts, which briefly experienced the hope of dawn, will not be forced to fall into the depths of disappointment again.

Actually, I decided there was a need for one more necessary feature.

Lots of stuff has to get done before that. What I am ready to do is post a list of the features of the update - just waiting on Eric's green light.
