A bit of a conundrum for both the Nile and Mesopotamia flood valleys. I know that they only started to really go to town with dikes and flood control and such. In SC if I make it semi-arid, I lose the Mud setting as the first menu is all greyed out. If I go with Temperate I lose dust storms.
So decided to go with Temperate for both so I could mimic the seasonal floods with the Mud setting:
I also decided to put a few secondary tributaries into the Nile Delta. Figured the loss of the dust storms is more than outweighed by players being aware of the possibility of floods and planning accordingly (they aren't a given note as in some years the flow can be rather low).
Yeah...after Aswan Dam was completed and filled....no more yearly flooding of the Delta.
Rommel will have an even more difficult time at El Alamein. He will have to time it so that if he breaks through, it will be the dry season so he can motor on to Suez.
