Hi Cantona66,

You will need a fast processor. If you are like me and multi-task while gaming you will need at least 4 cores. If all you do is just game or do minimal tasks like check your email 4 cores is the most you will want to have. The game is not multi-threaded and probably never will be so more cores do not help speed the game. If you build your own computers you can probably get a used/refurbished i7 or Xeon with a big L2 cache that will run rings around a newer, more expensive CPU for $100 to $200 US.

You will be fine with integrated graphics as the game is not demanding in that area. A separate graphics card may buy you some more speed but don't buy anything more than a lower tier card unless you have a big monitor and want to run at 2-4K.

Do get an SSD or a PCI-E drive. The game will load much faster and depending on how the game is structured, may speed up the game itself. I used to have SC2 on a PCI-E drive with my operating system and it loaded fairly quickly but did not see much improvement in game speed.

Buy as much memory (DDR4) as you can at the fastest speed you can. This will help if the game holds most of the program and data files (AI and Events) in system memory. A 64 bit operating system would be best. Either Windows 7 or Windows 10 would be fine. Even WinXP Pro 64 bit would be ok but it is no longer supported.

My system, which is not optimal, runs the game tolerably well but would be faster if I had gone for a speedier processor.

i7 6850K (runs at 3.6GHz), faster than my 8350 but not as much as I had hoped.
256 GB SSD and 256 GB PCI-E
32 GB DDR4 3000
1080 Ti NVidia (total waste for this game but great for recoding/rendering video)

Hope this helps...

Will
