Mod Purpose: This project aims to provide an alternative graphic pack option for Shadow Empire Stratagems cards.
Project Status: Number or cards drawn: 252/252 - 100% COMPLETE! Include OCEANIA DLC cards(17/12/2023)

Installation instructions:
(see also the readme file in the archive)
**Installation:
-Unzip the Archive (graphicsAlt) directly in the main Shadow Empire directory, or copy the unzipped folder (graphicsAlt) in the main game directory
* It should like this: C:\Matrix Games\Shadow Empire\graphicsAlt
* Or like this if you use Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Shadow Empire\
** An easy way to find where your game folder is: launch steam, righ click on "Shadow Empire" in your game library > Choose "Properties" > "Local Folder" > "Explore"
*** This will directly open the game directory
**Uninstallation:
Note: Never remove the /graphics/ folder. All mods are installed in /graphicsAlt/ folder, to prevent any bad things to happen
If you have others mods installed:
- Remove the follwing folders from ...\graphicsAlt\shadow\ directory:
*\card
*\se_corporate
*\se_crime
*\se_cult
*\se_linked
*\se_navyassets
If you don't have any others mods installed: Simply delete the whole /graphicsAlt/ directory
Some notes on the art and design approach and choice: Silhouettes and abstracts colored backgrounds.
Some explanation about the choice I made with the silhouette approach: the game allows players to generate a huge variety of different exo-worlds. For example you can play on a small cold planet, a toxic low gravity jungle-world, a perfect Gaia system, an irradiated hot desert, etc... It is then very difficult to illustrate all this diversity and its impact on potential human life, structures, vehicles, equipments, warfare, ... as a unique and common representation.
So in order to preserve players immersion, whatever the generated world and story you build in your mind, the art should support as best as possible stratagems cards descriptions and their effects, but in the same time, it should stay -evasive-.
Shadow Empire game contains currently around 230 different stratagems cards images (some of them are used for multiples cards). I think the artistic choice I propose permits to preserve players imagination, and helps me to design and paint each cards faster by focusing on a strong composition.
Finally, for a game called -Shadow Empire-, silhouettes/shadow design is also quite adapted and interesting [;)]

Hey Pymous, now that the Steam release is coming closer, are you going to pick this overly ambitious project up again?

It is a very ambitious task. Getting 72 cards is an achievement.

Hey Pymous, the latest beta adds this option to the game:
" -Added a “usertestmode.txt” file which is by default set to false, but can be set to true. This allows user access to toggle on modes that generate all Stratagems and start the game with all Techs and all Models. Great for the curious and the graphics modders. "
That means you can now start a new game with all stratagems, which is probably useful for this project.
