Scenario Requests

Post by VegasOZ »

I just watched the movie "The Day of the Siege". It is about the Battle of Vienna on September 11, 1683.

A mix of Polish, Austrian and Catholic troops defeated an Islamic Army of some 300,000 and stopped the expansion of Islam into the West once and for all (at that time anyway).

I would request that some talented Scenario designer make a scenario of this battle.

Battle of Vienna: September 11, 1683.

Thanks in advance.

The scale of the battle would require multiple scenarios...you would also need a terrain feature that would represent the Turkish trenches, but it could be done.

I'd like to add my voice to the call for this scenario. The siege of Vienna is one of the most exciting and dramatic events in early modern warfare.

I agree that multiple scenarios would be needed. For simplicity's sake, it could be broken down into 3 battles:

The Battle of Pressburg
The Battle of Kahlenberg
The Battle of Parkany
One more: So players may play the actual fighting at the city walls: the storming by the Ottomans after the mine explosion on August 12th that Bon Starehnberg himself repelled.

Players wanting to play the Habsburgs against the Turks should note there's a great single player scenario of the Battle of St. Gotthard available for download.

Just curious, is anyone working a mod of the Battle of Blenheim, or any other War of the Spanish Succession battles for that matter?

Thanks. Just checked it out. It looks like I'll have to design one myself.

Vinigar Hill for exaple is teaching me something I had read a few lines in a book concerning its importance. Here it is displayed in all its 'glory' (?) or sadness.

Thank you :)
