Turn 2. August 15, 1941. Clear (Dry). No Red Air force showed last turn, so the Luftwaffe appears (for now) to have total control of the skies. German forces grind ahead in all sectors. Andreapol, in the north, and Yartsevo in the center falls.

The Soviets bitterly counterattack towards Yelnya. The German defenders (32nd Wehrmacht (attached)) is battered but is holding with strong support attacking the Soviets north and south of the city.

Turn 3. August 18, 1941. Cloudy (Dry). The Soviet (Red) Airforce does appear. Five air units (8th MiG, 9th YAK, 3rd LaCG-3, 2nd Pe-2 and 32nd Pe-2). The do manage a bit of damage and force the 37th Ju 87B TAC (attached) back to base at 4-steps. However, Luftwaffe fighters combined with 8.8cm FLAK down the 8th and 3rd and reduce the surviving 3 Red Air units to 6, 4 and 10-steps.
On the ground, Olenino falls but significant progress is made towards Bryansk, Vyazma and Belyj.

Turn 4. August 21, 1941. Cloudy (Dry). Belyi falls and two more units distinguish themselves. The 2nd and 9th Red Air units return to base. The 32nd stays around, which is a mistake for the Reds. The Luftwaffe downs it, with some effort under cloudy skies.

Bryansk Sector (turn 4). I’m a bit under strength in this sector and will likely need to divert some forces just north to help out with the capture of Bryansk.

Turn 5. August 24, 1941. Clear (Dry). Rzhev, Vyazma and Bryansk should all fall in the next turn or two. A six Red Air unit (12th I-16) showed up at the airfield outside of Vyazma, which is now German, and was flamed.
In unit news, the 38th Grenadier was KIA. This did allow for the deployment of 3rd Grenadier, which was being held in reserve. Also on the positive side the 4th TAC and 8th Arty units distinguished themselves.

Turn 6. August 27, 1941. Clear (Dry). The objective cities of Rzhev and Vyazma do indeed falls this turn; but Bryansk holds out. It is expected to fall next turn. Several units were reinforced and / or rearmed this turn.
In unit news, the 11th Grenadier distinguished themselves this turn. And with respect to the operation, I have 8 turns left to capture the remaining objectives if I’m to achieve a decisive victory.

Turn 7. August 30, 1941. Clear (Dry). The objective city Bryansk and non-objective city Kirov fall. In the air, the Luftwaffe flames the Soviet 9th YAK air unit. The 2nd Pet-2, which is now back up to full strength, was spotted and will be dealt with next turn if it stays around and the weather cooperates.
Two more air units, the 4th TAC and 47th fighter distinguished themselves.

Turn 8. September 2, 1941. Clear (Dry). Mozhaisk (objective) falls and the Luftwaffe flying recon over Maloycroslavets finds it’s undefended. Also, in the air the Luftwaffe 5th fighter unit alone downs the 2nd Pet-2 Soviet air unit, which was at full strength.
The 18th recon distinguishes itself this turn.

Turn 9. September 5, 1941. Clear (Dry). More Soviet cities fall. Most surprisingly is that a number of them are falling without a fight (i.e., the Soviets left them undefended). Kaluga, which is being defended, should fall next turn leaving Tula and Moscow. Not counting this turn, which is finished for me, I only have 4 turns left in which to achieve a decisive victory. That is going to be tough; but I will give it my best shot.

RE: Fall Weiss AAR (Colonel) vs AI
The initial Moscow defenses are breached and 25% of the city is captured. What’s surprising is that it doesn’t look to be that well defended except for heavy air defenses. Barring unforeseen events it should fall in the next turn or two.

RE: Fall Weiss AAR (Colonel) vs AI
Because of the heavy air defenses in Moscow, the Luftwaffe is being diverted to Tula. They uncover the cities defenses. Tula may shape up to be a tougher nut to crack than Moscow. At best, I estimate 3 turns to take the city and I only have 4 turns left to achieve a decisive victory.

Turn 11. September 11, 1941. Clear (Dry). Well, my rush into Moscow paid off as it feel this turn. However, I lost the 18th recon (last turn) who first entered the city. All that is left is Tula and to make sure I defend my flanks to prevent any Soviets units from sneaking back into the objective cities I’ve already captured.
