AI supply rule

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

AI supply rule

Post by midgard30 »

Hi,

How well does the AI use the advanced supply rule (vanilla game and Deluxe)? Is it better to set it to basic? If so, does it mean the AI will still be supplied if the region is encircled?

Thanks

I always play with the advanced supply rule. The AI is doing its job with it. If you are setting to basic, good point, I don't know how it work for encirclements.

Ok thanks, I always check advanced supply for AI, but wasn’t sure if it plays better with basic supply. The manual suggests that it can handle advanced supply but nothing more.

I guess that basic supply will behave the same with players and AI, that is will be supplied while encircled.

Well not sure I am better than the AI sometimes. But if you want to play me, I have Deluxe 1.07 installed.

Sure! I own the game since it’s release. But I had looong period of times without playing it. Nevertheless, after all these years, it’s still my favourite wargame. Just love the supplies, the transport chains, the sub warfare, the Pacific, bombing raids, strategic and tactical movements, etc. For a game that looks like Axis & Allies on the surface, there’s so much deepness to it.

I never played against another player, and I certainly do not know all the strategies, especially with production, research, spying, etc. So consider me as a noob.

Currently my laptop is at the repair shop, and I have a game against the AI to complete. Right after that, I’ll contact you for a match.

Great! I have setup two games in the multiplayer section with Deluxe 1.07. Be sure to use the Deluxe 1.07 not the 1.071.

First game, I am playing the Allies. Second game, I am playing the Axis.
Mirror game in fact.

Hi midgard30, I have seen your note about "game not compatible".

I am using Deluxe 1.07 mod located here.

Is it what you have installed as well? Otherwise indeed, there will be a problem.
