What a great game it is!

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

What a great game it is!

After playing hundreds of hours WitE 2, I have recently bought War in the West and I can say it is a great game also, which will provide me with hundreds of hours entertaiment.

Many thanks to all who had helped producing this masterpiece!

Which mods are you using? Are there any must haves mods?

I bought the DLC and I am now playing Rommel attacks.

I am wondering why at the start in this scenario both sides start with 5000 Men disabled? Is this a bug?
Thanks in advance!

Great question! Seems arbitrary so maybe there was some unintended behaviour on turn one that was solved with adding some disabled men.

Can you please explain what you find to be so good about this game?

I'm struggling not to write ot off as one of the worst I have ever played.

You can peruse some of the threads I started seeking answers to the issues I keep uncovering for an understanding of the problems I have with it.
