Filler Names

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Is it too late to get into the database?

I wonder if you would consider my father Bernard Rose, for a pilot in the RAF? I ask because he actually volunteered for RAF service (in 1941, too young before that) wanting to serve as a bomber pilot, but upon discovering he was a skilled tradesman and had served an apprenticeship, they decided that this would make him imminently suitable for an RAF trade. He had been apprenticed as a printer, so of course they made him... a radar operator (or RDF operator as it was called when he started). Still you have to remember that radar was still a relatively new concept (and actually "secret" during the war) so they probably didn't know exactly who was most suitable. Anyway, since there's a good chance I wouldn't be writing this if he had been a bomber pilot so I can't complain! Even still his rather unusual service as a radar operator did lead to him storming ashore on D-Day on Sword Beach with a forward air control/interception unit (15053 FDP) under the assumption there would be air to ground attack (that didn't really materialise of course).

So sorry for this unrequested history, but I am very proud of my father's service and like to take the opportunity to tell of it whenever I can. However, although he's not with us anymore I think he would get a kick out of the idea of finally getting the opportunity to bomb Germany as a (virtual) pilot!

I thought about requesting myself to be added, but it wouldn't be right since I'm an army man!

Hi Hard Sarge, maybe I'm blinder than a bat has a right to be, but I can't seem to find this guy in the game:

:D

Wiki doesn't have his unit, but I'm guessing that would be the La Hache one (Only french one that flies the recon lightning)

I know this is a 10y/o thread but I'm trying to find a pilot who flew with the 379th BG. His name was Kermit (Woody) Wooldridge. His daughter has a google site with the diary he kept recording his missions. You can find that here. I'm having trouble finding the pilot list in the game. Any help there would appreciated.

He is not listed as one of the game pilots. I am sure there are quite a large number of pilots who are also not part of the game.

I will add this gentleman to one of the 379th B-17's. It's the least we can do.
