PBEM++ Issue

My opp and I are experiencing an error as follows;

" I just did my turn and went back to the menu and it's still my turn

So I did it again and same thing"

Any ideas/solutions? Thanks

Go to lobby- Select game vs Mr McC

Elect to end that game out of sheer frustration.

See all of mr mcC's units! Review the battlefield after the game.

Send this ended game save file to the PBEM++ network.

Return to lobby to play the same turn again a le groundhog day.

I just this moment received an email about this turn being downloaded multiple times.

This is what the situation looks like to me:

1) The scenario in question is “HL_WG5 Witch’s Cauldron” between ‘dvphimself’ and ‘fluidwill matrix’ in Turn 8. The last server update timestamp of 9 Aug 00:19:43 (?). ‘dvphimself’ is reporting the problem on his side.

2) Steps to reproduce:
a) Player ‘dvphimself’ downloaded the game as it was showing as “My Turn”.
b) Problem 1: He entered his orders and uploaded the game but it did not flip status to “Waiting”. It was still showing as “My Turn”.
c) He then downloaded the game again and ended it with the usual menu ‘File / End Game Now’. The normal end of game information displays occurred and he uploaded the ended game to the PBEM++ server.
d) Problem 2: The server game state remained the same – it was still his turn as of the previous filestamp date.

Each game in play has a unique GameInstanceID. I'm going to check with the Matrix server guys to see if they can find anything related to this in their error logs (since nothing apparently showed at your end), and also see if we can fetch the GameInstanceID to see if it somehow changed. A change in that critical ID number could explain the behaviour seen here.

Hello Mr C

As far as I understand the events, you've covered ever everything.
I can still access the game in question as my turn.
I have tried to play out the turn and end the game, each with the same result.
