Getting 2.0.10b working (Matrix version only)

Post by CapnDarwin »

These steps are for the Matrix purchased and downloaded files only.

Folks a number of issues have been causing problems getting the latest 2.0.10b update going. Part of that is on me for not fully explaining in detail the reinstall process. If you are having trouble getting the game going please try the following steps.

1). Uninstall the game and DLC.
2). Reboot the computer. Probably not necessary, but better safe then sorry.
3). Reinstall the base game, use the Run as Admin option to again be safe. This is the 2.0.6 Players Edition. I've been assuming this step when saying reinstall the game.
4). Now install the 2.0.10d.exe using the Run As Admin option. This will now install the correct exe and additional files.
5). Run the game and verify that you see the 2.0.10b on the main menu screen (lower right of the main dialog).
6). Try running a battle to see if loads and plays.
7). Now if you own Germany Reforged, install the DLC using the run as admin.
8). Run the game now and verify that Reforged is loaded. The launcher screen will be new. You should get a thank you message at or just after the splash screen.
9). Load and try one of the Reforged scenarios.

If all this worked the game should be working. Now we are working on a few PBEM bugs that are causing some users problems. We are hoping to have those resolved in a new 2.0.11 update we are working on now.

2.0.6? I only have an installer reading "shpointRedStorm-Setup-2.00.exe" although I am pretty sure I have got the Player's Edition installer too.

And for the Steam users?
I have the same issue that fixed with an old hotfix reappear: the game doesn't launch, creating 3 FPRS.exe processes which are impossible to terminate without rebooting the PC.

niemand303,

Steam was updating to 2.0.10bs just fine. What version are you seeing?

Tom,

You will want the 2.0.6 Player's edition installer to get all the correct files in place for the 2.0.10d to work.

But where to get it? If I remember correctly I was provided with a download link because I owned the original game but it seems I do not have this any longer, at least I cannot find it. What I did was installing 2.0, updating to 2.09 and 2.0.10 afterwards and it reads "Player Edition" V2.010b now.

I can't check the version because the game isn't launching. I tried reinstalling, it didn't help either.

Pffff my game crashes every damn time. With some access failure. I got it through Steam.

How do I get a full refund for a product not working?

If you are on the Steam version, you do not want to use these downloads for 2.0.10b. These are for the Matrix version only. Steams auto update should be working and should be put you into 2.0.10bs. That said I need to get more details on your crashes (Azenya and niemand). What do you have loaded? Did you install the DLC? Where exactly are things crashing in the process (install, update, game launch, in game menu, etc)? What OS, screen resolution, and font scaling are you using.

There are different steps to do to clean out and reinstall for Steam. We can run you through those if you wish.

We started getting this error last night, we had successfully completed 1 20+ round game and were 7 turns into our current game. My opponent uses Steam, I do not.

Looks like you are on 10b and your opponent is using the 11.1 beta. You both need to be on the same version for PBEM to work right.
