Crash after using fixes for slow performance

Post by lerugray »

Hello!

I did all the things listed by the slow performance thread to get my copy running to speed. It runs a lot better, but now I keep getting this error every 15-30 minutes, I checked and all the folders have admin privileges, any ideas? Installed to C://Matrix Games

The obvious first: have you tried running the game as admin? (Right click on the shortcut - run as administrator)

Yeah that and it's set up through properties to run as admin, if it is a file permissions issue I'm dumbfounded.

Try the following:

1. Uninstall the game if you have installed the game in the default installation folder at: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\English Civil War". If not go to step 3.

2. Reinstall the game, but this time install in a different folder than the default one. Install instead the game in for example "C:\Games\English Civil War".

3. Open the game installation folder, find a file named "Userpath.ini" and delete it.

4. Don't load your previous games, start a new game and check if the crashes are persisting.
