You skipped or somehow not finished 1 step of EM installation:

1.Unblock zip after download (file properties -> button or checkbox) or don't use Windows built-in unpacking as it preserves alternate stream which block game from loading dll

Short explanation of this error - windows marks all downloaded files with flag that they are not to be trusted. When game finds this file it complains that you need to explicitly tell it to trust untrusted files or you need to remove this flag.

Just remove flag on 7z, unpack and copy over all files.

Is there a possibility to intergate Osito's Research Unleashed mod into DWUR? Or, maybe, this integration is in "todo" list?

You can install it over DWUR and\or EM mod. Just need to decide what to do with images from DWUR for research and components (replace conflicting with new or leave them; and add missing images for new research.
But doing so will mean that you will need manually updates all future versions of DWUR mod to keep your modifications intact.

Trying this out with a couple of my personal tweaks. Thanks for putting all this work into an old game. I have DW2 but I can't bring myself to play it lol.

Glad you're enjoying it, friend! Yeah I keep coming back to DWU. I like a lot of what DW2 is doing, but it's slow going to get to the point where DWU is from a fleshed-out-experience and modding standpoint, IMO :D

Im getting a weird error message when i try to open the galaxy theme for DWUR, it says certain pictures for UI are missing, some galaxy and some ships. its always different and no matter how I re download it doesn't seem to fix it

For the latest 29 March 2025 update, you'll want to to change the "about.txt" from DWUR 1.1.0 to DWUR 1.1.1. :mrgreen:

Is this kinda broken? I started a Legends game as Humans and it spawned me in with the name Atukko 2 and Atukko 1 was the Atukk race and they were literally right next to me and immediately started attacking me because I was in their airspace.

Which of the incorporated mods removed the frigates? Tried looking by myself but couldn't point it down on any of them

I can understand that. Took me a while to familiarize myself with it, even went so far as to uninstall DWU at a point to force myself to play DW2. Thing is, DW2 is so much better in just about everything if you don't play DWU. Tried reinstalling it to replay my beloved securans, however it was in my eyes way too cluttered. You don't get that in DW2. Must be the three dimensions. Even so, with the work done on vol. 2 and the upcoming expansions, well, you might want to rethink bringing yourself to play DW2.

Thank you! I just shifted things to GitLab (updated the main page) for better version control overall. Updated the about.txt :D

I'll look into Legends a bit (my initial looks into starting games with other scenarios seemed to work fine). I usually play on custom game. Apologies if it messes up.

I'm not sure what mod did it either, but I believe you can go into the "gametext.txt" and change things back.

right now these things were changed
Frigates became destroyers
destroyers became light cruisers
cruisers became heavy cruisers

Changing gametext should revert that. I would just do a search within the txt file (searching for frigate, destroyer, etc) and see where it swapped things out.

(if you change your .txt file, it probably won't take effect until you disable/re-enable the theme and exit/restart).

Oh, will do that then. On another note I just dowloaded the newest version and Galactopedia seems to be all messed up, wasn't the case on 1.1.1
That is, unless I messed something up myself
