Why is the game some laggy when scrolling the map?

Post by OxfordGuy3 »

I want to like DC: Barbarossa, but the game is so laggy when scrolling across the map that it make the game tedious to play for me. I also have War in the East, but scrolling across that huge map isn't laggy in that at all, it zooms across it. I have a fairly high spec computer with a decent quad core CPU, Nvidia 970 graphics and 16Gb RAM, so I'm not trying to run DC: Barbarossa on a toaster.

Are there any settings that could be a possible cause of this issue, or is the game always this laggy? Thanks

Have you made sure to enable the high speed graphics setting:

Found in the Prefs setting.

I know this may sound a bit counter intuitive, but, it works.

@ernieschwitz - thanks, enabling "Higher Speed Gfx BETA" has certainly improved things considerably, it's still nowhere near as smooth scrolling the map as WITE, but definitely more playable now

Though 16 Gb of RAM is the minimum, I would try 32.

I have 32 and no issues.

My personal laptop can only take 16 Gb RAM max, my work one has 32Gb, but I can't run DC: Barbarossa on that, as it won't let me install .NET Framework 3.5 :-(
