Questions on the upcoming CSME version 3 graphics files

Post by Hoplite1963 »

Hi All
I am working on a number of JSGME ready minor faction graphics mod sets for CSME and have the first covering the Chadians almost finished.

This one is built to work with the CSME graphics set up as is, which I presume will change for Version 3 to bring the game into line with CSVN. I thought I would do a few in the current format for starters and then make duplicates of these and others that will work with version 3 when it comes out next year.

Am I right in thinking that the “Bases0d##” file sets will change to the format used for CSVN ie with 2 rows of blank bases below the to with faction symbols on, whereas the “Counters1d##” and “icons2d##” file sets (that seem to have the same layout in both CSME and CSVN) will retain the same format ?

Kind regards
Ian

And also the A-1 Skyraider from the French OOB that I have changed the markings on to represent one of the half dozen or so in Chadian service. From the artwork in the relevant “Libyan Air Wars” book it looks as if repainting the markings on ex French aircraft was all the Chadians did as well.

Hello Ian, another great mod in the making, I see!

Yes, you are correct. "Standard" and "Alternate" 3D unit bases are indeed now combined into one file set, per how you see it in CSVN.

Thanks Crossroads. I will make the current set in versions for both the current and 3.0 versions of CSME but additional mods for ones for 3.0 only.

Kind regards

Hello Ian how are you! We're looking to start putting together the next CS Middle East UPDATE towards end of March. What's the latest version of your mod to include there, if you will?

Latest timestamps from the mod included in the current version and its MODS folder are 26 July 2020. I'd be more than happy to include the latest files you've prepared.

Hi Crossroads
I have sent you a private message about this but basically I very happy for you to use the most appropriate version available at the release date.

Kind regards
Ian
