possible new features

Suggestions:

Air-droppable infantry: To be able to drop infantry behind enemy lines could open up some new tactical perspectives. Scouts could be deployed quickly and could relay valuable information about the enemy strength and formation to the main force or special forced could be deployed to deal with the enemies rearward units like artillery or anti-air emplacements.

Towable / moutable artillery: The Option to move your artillery pieces could be a nice feature since even the fixed guns should be able to keep up with the mobile forces or be able to retreat to a saver location or relocate to get a better firing position.

Expanded Air-to-Air: As far as i am aware there are only ground-attack aircraft or aircraft equipped for ground-attack currently modeled in the game. Air-to-Air Combat could take place off map but the ability to deny the enemy any possibly of conducting airstrikes by calling in fighter aircraft to the region might be tactically interesting. The Player could call in a combat air patrol which is active for a certain amount of time. If the enemy calls in an airstrike during that time there could be a certain possibility that the attacking aircraft gets shot down by the players aircraft.

MLRS: I am not entirely sure if they can be added in in via the editor already but Multi-Rocket-Launcher-Systems (Like the M270 or BM-21 Grad) and the ability to rearm them on the field (a feature interesting for many units) could expand the abilities of the support and artillery sections.

More sprites for units: Now this is a nitpicky one. If you fire a missile it should no be shown on the model anymore (for example the Rapier SAM of the British forces in the game or the Malyutka ATGM which should be mounted over the barrel of the BMP-1 or BMD-1). I do not exactly know how to implement this one but it may be possible to expand the data sheet for such units in the editor. For example if one would like to add a SAM unit with exposed missiles (SA-6 Gainful for example) he could first define how many missiles the unit carries fully loaded (in this case three). Now he would have to add four sprites for the turret (one full, one empty, one with two missiles and one with one missile). Alternatively the missiles themselves could be added as individual sprites instead of different versions of the "turret". Another sprite related topic is the firering position of certain units. Some artillery units need to extend their "anchors" or errect their main weapon (the 2S4 Tjulpan for example). Such units would need to have a "travel-mode" sprite and a "fire-position" sprite.

Thanks for your attention so far. I want to thank Vetikka Studios for releasing such a nice tactical cold war themed game. If you ask me it has a lot of potential! [:)]

P.S. I am sorry if I made some grammatical errors. English is not my native language. [&o]

Paratroopers probably won't be introduced because realistically they usually need as much as few hours to reassembly and reorganize after being scattered following a large scale drop, plus tactical airhead operations often involve the air-landing of heavy equipment, supplies, and supporting/reinforcing units to consolidate and exploit the initial lodgment. There might be some small-scale exceptions like Rhodesian Foreforce Paradaks, but those are very conflict-specific.

Helicopter-borne operations are planned for scenarios, on the other hand.

We deliberately omitted towed artillery because of AI (and maybe visual factors to a degree), but game engine allows it to be modeled with ease in mods.

Expanded Air-to-Air is on the table for the sequel, however we are still discussing the basics on how and if it can be modeled in sensible manner. There is a high level of abstraction and complexity involved.

Next DLC (soon to be announced) will involve a first MLRS on-map unit, with proper formation flag. It is easy to model already, but relatively few systems are actually within the Armored Brigade scale: for example minimum range of some system is greater than the smallest map size that can be played.

As for more sprites per unit, that is highly unlikely. It is not technically impossible, but the work involved is not justified by a very small number of content creators who would benefit.
