Quick question about the viewpoints in the gameplay trailer

I just bought this game and I know there is a steep learning curve. My question is....in the gameplay trailer there are scenes mixed in that show the game from like inside the cockpit or tank, show the planes up close and show the camera following troops and equipment on the battlefield like an FPS game.... How do I access that feature? Is it when I check mark my "character" when setting up the game? Can someone please explain this, I'm fairly new to this, but it looks really cool if I can utilize this view.
