attach/detachments and merging?

Post by kwok57 »

I'm playing armored brigade 2.

Is there a way to merge units and assigning things as attachments? For example, if i were to have an AT team as a support unit, can I assign it to an infantry platoon so that they can be commanded with the same orders under the same formation?

I noticed there is a "join" and "split" option in the formation tab but I can't find any documentation or explanation on what it does and how to use it.

It's not possible, other than by editing the database.

The manual says:

"Passengers of a mechanized formation can be separated into their own formation that can be commanded independently."

So SPLIT separates them, and JOIN merges them back.

Thank you for the response!

And thank you for the game!

I hope I dont sound needy, I am just asking. Is changing the "order of battle" and attach/detachments planned for the future? Traversing and coordinating between managing companies, platoons, and support teams with varying levels of order delays (even with hq's nearby) gets a bit tricky. For example, moving a supporting AT or manpad team without a radio to move with an infantry platoon with a radio will almost always break formation without tedious synchronizing of waypoints. It would be nice to attach support units at least to existing units to receive orders at the same time and stay in formation on the move.
