It is quite impressive to see the SAM of the latest generations covering huge parts of Germany.

SAM ranges don't mean a lot without the context of radar ranges and locations. You'll find that a lot of the long-range SAMs are hobbled with radar ranges or radar located in areas that limit early detection and /or tracking.
