lua and alert level

Post by thewood1 »

I noted "ScenEdit_SetSideEmconAlertness()" listing in the github. The info is kind of sparse. Does anyone have any info on how its used.

Not a big help as it might be common knowledge now, but it looks like you need to own Pro to open the link explaining the function. Maybe you can get some sort of explanation on its use from the developers. From the Command Lua documentation...

Command: Professional Edition
Functions listed below are only available in Command: Professional Edition

ScenEdit_SetSideEmconAlertness() PRO ONLY

OK. Well, on github, which I thought was the more authoritative source, this is what I see...

It could be just an oversight on github.

And one level up, its explicitly not listed under the pro heading...

I'll see if anyone steps in to clarify.

I just checked, they seem to have put that option back to Pro-Only?!? Weird.

Can't take the time answer the question, but can take the time and change it up and hope no one notices.

Just another note of frustration...functions for commercial and Pro seem to be somewhat dynamic. This is the 3rd or 4th function that seems to have made the switch over time.

Heh  Well, hopefully they just changed back the page just because the forgot to add it to CMO in this build and it comes later... To state the fucking obvious, anything else wouldn't make sense, Alertness had been added to CMO after all, why leave out the lua part..

I am slowly building up the Lua pages for the items that were PRO.
This is going a bit slower than I wanted, but I can only work on it for a few hours a day.

Note I am only updating the new pages which will become the standard link soon.

I understand the workload issue. But its seems very odd to have the question asked here and then within a very short time its changed on the page with no response here. I would expect a response to the question before the change not days after.

It wasn't changed.
Your image was from the new docs link, while the other is from the old docs link.

There are only about 12 items still PRO only under the latest 'tiny' builds

Nice! I do kinda miss the alphabetical function listing, even so, I think the general category listing change going to be more user friendly to a majority. Probably more my eye memory just needing to adjust over time.

I am also going to probably add a single liner to the listing so when you hover over the function, it will show a message for the 'not so obvious' function names. :D
