Command Documentation Update

Post by pgatcomb »

Hello all!

I was recently given the challenging task of keeping the Tom Clancy novel of the COMMAND documentation up-to-date with all the latest and greatest things coming from the dev team. I'm super excited to present version 1.28, which while not 100% up-to-date (I'm working on that), it provides a great deal of new insight in C: MO as well as some tips for using some of the new features and technologies.

My goal is to periodically update this post with the latest version of the docs as I develop them and ultimately create a 'living document' style item later on that can get live updates.

Expect to see typos, errors, misspellings, profanity, and omissions as the document grows in scope, completion and helpfulness. If you have any suggestions, feel free to drop them below and I'll add them to the task list.

Enjoy!

Wow,
I've been copy/pasting all the Beta patch "Update" "Tweak" info into a word doc. So much has been done recently and it's hard to absorb it before more is dropped on us! It's a nice problem to have, but I've been thinking how badly we need a new "manual". Thanks so much for this. I'll get to reading.

Regards,

John

Just want to also send a shout out to Coiler12. He spent a lot of time behind the scenes writing and assembling over the last few years. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Indeed! Phil is picking up where Coiler12 left off, and the latter's quality shows.

We have a quick update to the documentation. Most of the stuff is around the mission editor, but there are a few tweaks here and there with some of the new features added in the last few updates. The next major section to concentrate on will be some of the auxiliary changes to the user interface, but I will tackle that when I have a little more time. The TOC definitely needs some TLC :)
