Patton Drive to Prüm : 06 - 10 Feb. 1945 (20 turns)

At the start of February 1945 Patton's 3rd Army orders were only limited to protect the south flank of 1st Army advance through the German Westwall line.
But as usually General Patton had different view and so told Middleton, commander of VIII Corps, to go beyond the assigned Schnee Eifel ridge objective and move directly to Prüm.
At 04:00 AM on 6 February, without artillery preparation, the 90th Infantry Division 359th Infantry Regiment jumped off abreast, along the main highway into Habscheid.

The retreating German divisions now reduced to Kampfgruppe strenght, still managed to contain the American advance and only on 12 February 1945 Prüm was finally taken.

In the info text I wrote 20 Turns but I haven't decided how many turns yet, the beta version has 12 turns but you can play more than 30 turns.
Waiting some feedback, I already see some minor thing to fix.

Thanks !

I played the scenario as Axis against the AI (hard difficulty). It was quite fun in the beginning, as you have a depleted force in a defensible terrain. There were multiple close calls in the North near Ormont, but my defenses held (even the HQ units had to do some defending). In the beginning of the turn 12 I had 117 VPs.

I was a bit disappointed to see the AI move artillery units to the very frontline in a couple of places. Also, enemy armor did not really make any appearance.

For some reason the hex info sidebar showed that every hex would have had a fortification. One other minor visual thing was that in the strategic map mode it does not show the VP value for Prüm.

Thanks for the feedback !
I must adjust the fuel level the US tanks and Half tracks are always very low on fuel.

Is this meant to be played as US Human?

If so, US fuel stocks are critically low to the point of being unplayable. Haven't tried the Axis yet.

Thanks for the feedback !
I tested the scenario for both AI.
This is last updated version 1.47a with revised fuel, 20 turns and other minor fixes.
Thanks again for testing.

I downloaded the fie but my game crashes to desktop. I'm patched up all the way. Any suggestions?

Have you verified that your download is okay and didn't get corrupted? I'm able to load it and get into the US turn without an issue.

No problem with antivirus. I have downloaded scenarios from the VR site also with no problems.
This file came in a ZIP. I extracted to the scenario folder...and game dump to desktop.
I even extracted via the game from the ZIP. Same result.

I even turned off me security settings. No dice.

Hmm, that's odd! I just used nikdav's link and now have tried turn 1 from both sides without an issue.

Have you checked the Windows Event log? It may have recorded the issue that you're experiencing.

This may seem like a stupid question, but never leave out the obvious. Have you downloaded and installed the beta patch needed for this scenario?

Good to know! That is why I always make a backup before updating a scenario - makes it easier to rollback!

I still got crashes. Disabled mods : crash.
Thinking of doing a new clean install. Probably tomorrow.
