Impact of Ground Support, Artillery and Generals on final CV

I forward the questions here, into the War Room, since I hope for elaboration on (Soviet) Artillery (Divisions) and Officers/Generals values.

How is this process calculated? Can i estimate how much they affected final CV?
As you say/know:
  1. Air Support adds 0 CV but it reduces enemy CV.
  2. Artillery adds just a little CV but reduces enemy CV.
Both of that happens by DEStroying/DAMaging/DISrupting enemy Ground Elements (a Ground Element is: 1 Tank or 1 Rifle Squad or 1 Gun/Cannon ...).
Every element what's DES/DAM/DIS can
  • no longer/not at all shoot in that battle
  • not add any CV to the final CV (After the battle, which is used to determine the final "odds", which defines who will win the battle and what the battle result will be [Rout/Retreat ...])
  1. Concerning aerial Ground Support:
Air participation is the first in each battle/happens before ground battle (AFAIK).
    Exact estimating is difficult.
    • One Ground attack Aircraft fires all it's bombs at one Ground element (some loadouts may hit multiple Ground elements + some planes fail to hit).
    • Since targeting is somewhat random (there may be some "priorities" but that's not 100%), so you never know how many CV you will deny the enemy.
    • On top of that you somehow "keep" your CV higher, since the enemy has some more Ground Elements not being able to shoot at all (and therefore not reducing your own CV ...so you "keep them" higher).
    • Further, the CV of each (especially defending) Ground Element differs depending on the Fortification Level and the Density of the Hex. As an easy Example, imagine a Rifle Squad without any bonus, being DISrupted lowers the CV of the enemy by 3, whereas if that Squad is inside a Urban area which has a Fortification of 4 you will reduce the CV by ~50 (made up number but it's about that in scale/comparison) by DISrupting this single Ground Element.
So, there is no easy answer, I guess experience will teach you a "feeling" on what you can expect to achieve and when you need to use Ground Support and when not.
  2. Concerning the Artillery:
I hope others can elaborate on that.
I have no idea about that Soviet Artillery-Division stuff (when/how often they shoot and so on).
I've read about there being a additional "Artillery Phase" at the start but never checked/looked into this and a comprehensive way to make any statements.

Manual says battle invole many times dice roll.So a general with infantry 5 vs a general with 6,what’s the difference?
I encourage you to figure that out and share with us! :)
...or someone here can elaborate.
What I can state is that the Generals skill does not directly affect your initial CV/CV shown on the Map.
Other than that "what happens in the battle, stays in the battle".
