That's the problem with these strategy games... When you'd think you did a decent job there is always a history buff around to point out your mistakes. [;)][:D] Added a replacement image for the MG42 for the next release.

I try to be as spot-on as I can, so feedback like this is highly appreciated! Even if it can be a humbling experience at times. [:)]

what is the "Root Directory"? id like to use the launcher but i dont want to screw it up.

The root directory is the main directory the game resides... On my PC that's 'E:\games\Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2'.

i did what you said and it didnt install, think im going to try the other way. and to do that do i just copy and paste the Dat folder over the vanilla folder?

Extracting it into a temp directory and copy/pasting the contents of the DAT folder should work fine. In that respect it's pretty straightforward.

Version 3 is up! The installer includes the option to skip the leader imagery, should you prefer someone else's work above mine. [:)]

Those are from War in the West, as far as I can recall... I did do an aircraft imagery set for WitW some years ago. I don't know what the future will hold in that respect.

Most welcome! It has been fun doing them, and do spice up my own game, which was the trigger for it all. Part of the credits go to Omat, who did the original imagery for the game, as we've been sharing a few source images to help the other. Having had a minor role during the development phase of the game has helped in that respect. As did my original work for WitE1.
