The "Errata" idea was well conceive.

I like the option of both having a change log and manual updates.

Sometimes, changes mean more, especially to non-expert, when put in proper context. Also, as the changelog is incremental changes, you may fail to capture impact something which evolved over time.

Thank you.

...

can't claim the credit for that, a poster suggested it as a simple tool to spot changed sections in what is a 800 page document. Since we don't use the title for anything else it will methodically move you through all the rules changes etc since release.

Roger,

How do you get it if you are only running the betas? Is it update there as well? (I will update my beta this afternoon.)

Thanks.

the last formal patch has the relevant Living Manual included (should be in the manuals sub-folder) as 1.06.

I got confused as we have test-beta patches that are testing things that might go into the next public beta and posted the version that maps onto that. So had to pull it as its misleading as to what is currently coded into the game

its one (of the several) reasons why I just can't start any HtH games at the moment, seems I can't have multiple .exe on the same computer so can't have a public WiTE2 and test version.

edit - in general we are trying to release a relevant Living Manual with the beta release. For various reasons that is not always possible, in that case I'll put up the matching Manual in this thread till it becomes incorporated into a release. I'll then take it down.

So in effect, if there is no link in the first post, what you have with the release version is the most up to date. Should stress, the manual only picks up rule changes/clarifications not bug fixes or data changes. So its quite possible that some patches don't trigger a documentation change.

Roger,

I found it in the Beta.

I think you really can run multiple versions by just renaming to the install path.

A quicker and neater way using a junction which is a symbolic link that works just like a folder, but resolve to another another directory on the same drive. Microsoft has used junctions from WINXP on to keep compatibility of common directory names.

So, you have WITE2 which is junction which you just point at which version you wish to run. In fact, for a beta, this is a very convenient way to have multiple versions at your disposal.

I present 3 examples below ...

My use of junctions to get game data off by C: drive system disk ... I hate games cluttering my system disk.

Living Manual now matches all the changes in the recent 01.01.15 beta. The download link is in the first post and will expire in a week - which is not a problem as by then it should have been bundled with the next release.

Roger

edit - this version includes a few undocumented features, especially about the conditional late war Axis reinforcements which are not in the initial reinforcement schedules. These are now recorded in the 'Events' chapter and appendices.

Thank you, Roger!!!

No doubt the Germans lost, since no one wrote them a living manual for the war ... after blitzkrieg stopped working for them.

yes, they only last a week.

replaced with a new link - I was expecting the next formal patch to have come out by now and that would have had this version embedded with the documentation

because that version is now bundled with the last released patch so no need for a link here.

We are only using this thread when I can't update the LM to the most current public patch so that its here if really important. That is fortunately fairly rare. So most of the time any link here is redundant, in fact potentially confusing
