There has been a couple the posts on this matter including one myself, in answer the question the guns are " rails " makes it difficult for attaching them to units, I believe was one of the reasons which I concur with.
However I to wish they were in game but again it would be difficult to implement them.

Thank you very much tm1 for your post, but guess what, I found the Railway guns they are called

240mm Theodore RR Gun

and they are Super Heavy Artillery

But maybe you can help me here, I cannot find what Unit the Railway guns are in!? do you know how I might find what unit they are in?

For example I found the Karl Siege mortars in the 2/833 and 1/833 siege mortar battery's but I cant find what unit the railway guns are in!?!?!?

The 240mm railway gun you mentioned of which there was total of 5, was first used in the battle of France at the start of the war then spent the rest of the war in a coastal defence role with one making it back to Germany after the Normandy landings.
As Germany geared for a potential future war in the 1930s, Krupp was given permission to rebuild three of the four Wilhelmshaven guns as railway guns. They were given turntables that made use of circular tracks for 360-degree traverse. They could be loaded only at no elevation, thus they must be re-aimed after each shot. Krupp delivered all three guns in 1937. All three participated in the early phases of the French campaign in 1940, and a fourth one was acquired when Germany captured the only other surviving sister gun that was being used by Belgium. All four guns were then assigned to Artillerie-Batterie (Eisenbahn) 664 and Artillerie-Batterie (Eisenbahn) 674 (664th and 674th Railway Gun Batteries) in southwestern France near Hendaye and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, near the Spanish border. On 1 Sep 1944, all four guns were withdrawn to Germany. No further record existed for these four railway guns.
Source wikipedia and i found several other sites with the same information.
So you won’t find them in the eastern theatre as they weren’t used there.

Hey thanks Fraggo5, I didn't know that should have looked it up myself, Im still learning the game so Im interested to know how to locate where the Theodore's actually are I looked in the theatre boxes in the western theatre and could not find them there. do you know where else I could look? I wonder are they only listed in the commanders report and don't appear anywhere else in the game? or maybe aren't used at all in the game? How to find them?

Logically if they were in France then they would be in the Western Europe theatre box
I had a look in there and they aren’t listed so I would guess they aren’t modelled in the game

Ok so Germany does not have any railway guns then? even though railway gun Theodore is listed as equipment it actually isn't in the game. That seems strange, why have it as equipment that cant be used?

Excellent Teo41_ITA how did you handle the problem Tm1 mentions about the Railway guns being unable to be attached to units that have gone further than the railways have been repaired?

I may be wrong but it is not something that can be handled.
It will rely on the good will of the player to not use such unit unless the rail repairs consent to it.

Maybe having Rail in the unit name and railroad as motorization in OB may prevent some improper usage. Just a wild guess though.

Ok so how quick the rail limes were repaired is relevant then to where the rail guns can be used, this is how far the rails had been repaired in the actual campaign at such and such a date.

" 27 June - Kaunas (military railroad station)
28 June - Bajohren
6 July - Dvinsk (west bank of the Dvina)
9 July - Riga
10 July - Rezekne (shuttle traffic from Dvinsk and Riga)
11 July - Ostrov
13 July - Cherskaya (between Ostrov and Pskov)
17 July - Sebezh
24 July - Pskov"

So my question is this, In WITE 2 has the German got the capacity to repair the rail lines to these cities by these dates? because I remember in WITE 1 it was impossible.

In the previous post I gave the real rail repair milestones for the Germans because I do remember that in WITE 1 the German rail repair rate was way less than what they actually achieved in the real war. So if there is the same gross underestimation in WITE 2 of the German Rail Repair capacity then you could just assume that the rail has got to where it needs to be for the deployment rail guns because in real life the rail would probably be way further ahead than what the game allows.

Does not anyone in the forum know if WITE 2 lets the Germans achieve there historical rail repair milestones listed in my previous post?
