Game launches into Blue screen nothing

I have been playing this game for several years now. I just picked up the Pacific DLC and now when I launch the game all I get is a blue screen and have to alt+tab back to Windows and kill it.

How to fix?

This is all I see when I load the game.



I use Steam to launch it, and also used Steam to validate the install files, it said all was well, but apparently not.

I have no idea why this is happening. We have had no other reports of this. If you disable the Pacific DLC does it still happen?

Fixed my issue. After re-installing the game from Steam and the rebooting. I tried launching the game from the Steam Client app. Same issue. But when I double clicked on the shortcut icon the game launches just fine. So the Steam Client app is broken.
