How are points determined in the tournament?

By dice just like the combat results. I no longer take part in tournaments because of the unpredictable and erroneous scoring.

Since the previous replay was rather unhelpful, I will take a shot at it.

The logical answer would be based on the scoring system that is in the game based on the victory conditions. However, it does appear to be more granular than that. My guess would be a points for each victory hex plus points for destroyed enemy units or lost casualty points.

Pretty certain it is not based on dice rolls.

The in game victory conditions just give you 0, 1, 2, or 3 stars, but it does tell you what percentage of each side were casualties. The points must be based on casualties. Anyway it is interesting that no one seems to know.
