Confused about the Way Tournament Turns Work- Please Help

Playing in first tournament and the PBEM turns are confusing me...why are there two buttons to play? one for advance and one for defensive? why isn't there just one play button that goes back and forth?...I am attacking...which (or both) buttons do I press to make my turn? I don't want to foul up the game for me or my opponent.

I am confused by what you mean. Can you screen shot it?

I see either a play button or "waiting for opponent" on the MP menu.

I got my answer through the same question I posted on discord. Basically, I didn't understand I was playing a "mirrored" game, effectively playing both sides of the scenario at the same. Once I understood that, I was ok. Thanks for trying to help anyway.
