What’s New in Version 2.1.0.6794
New Features
Additional Documentation
- Document “OAG CWSS-02R1 Force Review.pdf” has been completed and can be found in \Modules\FCSS\Documents\.
- Systems with more than 32 CPU cores gave the multi-threading library grief. This has been addressed and the game no longer has this limit.
- The player can set the Options > Mission Graphics Transparency Option to one of three levels: 50% (default), 25%, or 10 to customize how transparent/opaque the Mission Graphics are when displayed on top of the map.
Installation
- With some installations, the initial scenario list was not populating as expected, necessitating a manual copy of the installation scenario folder over to the play folder. The embedded routine that does this has been rewritten and will now work in all circumstances without manual intervention.
- The “overlays.ini” file needed to be copied from the install folder to the play folder so that changes to User Preferences can be saved.
- Ownership of one-sided victory point locations is now correctly determined in Tutorial #1.
- The Warsaw Pact colors have been changed to the expected colors in all the tutorial mission graphics.
- Quietly Flows the Donau was supposed to be set on 21 July 1989 but was really starting on July 20th. We have fixed the scenario start date to use the 21st.
- Beaning the Beamers has different setup zones to add more flexibility to the starting setup.
- The F4 hotkey did not toggle the unit Dashboard off as expected. It would toggle it on but not off, and this has now been fixed.
- Windows Text Scaling. The five core information panels had sizing issues when Windows text scaling was greater than 100% and the expand/collapse toggle was used. The game now does a better job of capturing the proper heights and restoring them later.
- The accelerator keys for the main menu speed buttons have been restored. 'Alt' plus the underlined letter in the menu header will drop down the associated menu. This gives more keyboard-friendly access to this part of the game.
- Map Zoom. Enhance game experience at 5k and 250% fonts by allowing the maps to be zoomed to 200%.
- Core Panels & Right Edge of Screen. If the core info panel docking area was made visible and then the player went directly from one game to start a new game, the core info panels could be moved further to the right and become inaccessible. The cause of this has been found and fixed.
- We changed pathfinding slightly in the case where it was trying too hard to avoid overstacking on crowded roads. This was observed in Tutorial #1.
- Combat Model: Long-range direct-fire corrections were made to reduce an excessive accuracy bonus. This addresses the recent issue that long-range fire could be a little too accurate sometimes.
- Fog of war settings in campaigns could sometimes spontaneously change. It would switch to the fog of war settings of the author’s computer and not those of the campaign itself. This has been fixed and now works as expected.
- Sometimes engineers with bridges were not getting credit for having the bridges or being allowed to use them. This happened when non-bridging subunits outnumbered bridging subunits and is now fixed.
The following items are known issues that will be addressed in a nearterm release.
PBEM++
- Sometimes trying to “View” a game finished by the other side
results in an error 29 “You are not in this game” result.
- It should be played whenever a helicopter is brought down but is not.
