Update 2.1.4.8218 ----- Line of Fire

Post by StarySobaka »

Since the update I noticed the behavior of Line of Fire ( LOF) is different. The manner it displays ATGM missiles is nice but other times (main gun + ) the LOF is reduced to a mere hair in thickness, yet with random thicker areas here and there. I personally do not care for this, preferring to decide for my self the LOF thickness. I tried setting the thickness of the LOF in preferences but to no effect and I have seen new this behavior also on a recently posted youtube channel.
I looked through the update and the posts but havent seen this addressed so I thought Id bring it to your attention.
Im running win11, i7-12700KF, and a Nvidia RTX3070ti.

I know the color works for the new fire animations, but I will check on the size parameter and get back to you.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Size is not affected by the spinner. I'll JIRA the issue to see if there is a way to add sizing. If you need to see the fire better, you can revert back to the old lines in the Options menu in the game.

"revert back to the old lines in the Options menu in the game"
Animate combat fire exchanges. I hadnt seen that and didnt see anything listed about the new animations.
Great, well I guess that was what I had been looking for. But too bad the animations restricted your ability to set the LOF thickness.
Was about to try with the animations off but :
Im playing Big Red One Campaign, scenario "US1-SN4 Percutio" (4/5) and after setting up I press start and get an error.
" unit D/4-16 IN in hex 3333 is not a valid setup location, Then a button to PROCEED that leaving me at deployment. BUT that HQ unit and its subordinates 1/D/4-16 IN and 2/D/4-16 IN are un deployable during my deployment. This must be a glitch, seeing as the units are carry overs from the prior scenario.
Regards, Tom
PS, I tried putting that HQ subordinate to a differing HQ and all three units became deployable, so problem is solved but I guess a glitch still exists as to why it happened in the first place.
PSS Just began playing the scenario. LOF is better in that it now an unbroken line, but it remains very thin compared to arty and paths of movement. Changing the width in preferences seems to do nothing at all, a setting of 8 is the same as 12. If this was the trade off IMO it was better to maintain the option of LOF width/ thickness.
