Re: Universal Wargaming Platform
sPzAbt653 would you be able to help, with stuff like game setups after the art is done(it is hard work!) and designing the format for the images maybe? no presure we do what we want to do no more or less
but I am doing the programing which just drained me setting 72 images for every module, not complaining, GaryChildress is doing the art, just saying we need help with all aspects, so anybody else would like to help too?

GaryChildress we need a format before we put the art in the images slots? see back posts, and dont worry 72 images per module will most likely be copies, it just give us max flexibility to expand modules. we could start from about 8 images and work up, I really like the random game idea. and your tanks look great!
if anybody want to do the hextile artwork? we dont need many for desert war to start off

Re: Universal Wargaming Platform
am I jumping the gun, are we doing this or is it smouldering away. I have reread and it seems we are not committed yet, but lets see? making a game needs a lot of effort, the tanks are great though thanks.
Re: Universal Wargaming Platform
I could contribute to this project. I'm not sure of the game's scale and scope yet. I have to poke around the files some more. I think most of us are really interested in a TOAW type system, something that supports a lot of scales and parameters.

What format do you guys want the art in? I prefer PNG because it works with transparent pixels. Also, what size do the images need to be.mainsworthy wrote: ↑Sun May 01, 2022 1:30 pm GaryChildress we need a format before we put the art in the images slots? see back posts, and dont worry 72 images per module will most likely be copies, it just give us max flexibility to expand modules. we could start from about 8 images and work up, I really like the random game idea. and your tanks look great!

I have put a capt folder in every modules folder now, the capt folder your pointing at is just the default, you have v0016 thats so old now, get the new version 0018 https://agamecreator.itch.io/universal- ... -turnbased

You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Many a year ago (late 1980s) there was a game for various computer platforms titled Universal Military Simulator. I had the Amiga version. Unfortunately, I do not remember much about it.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but, I've been trying to PM you, Gary, and my PMs just don't get sent. They are stuck in my outbox. Anyway, if you would contact me (either by email ernie at olympias dot dk or by PM) that would be great.GaryChildress wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 4:53 pm What format do you guys want the art in? Re: Universal Wargaming Platform
Hi, I don't actually visit this forum much these days...I'd seen your thread earlier, but the the vehicle images, etc., I assumed that you were working on a tactical game, which doesn't particularly interest me. But I just saw your latest post, with what looks like an operational level game, and this would interest me much more.
I have rudimentary coding skills in C#. Basically no graphics skills. Pretty good understanding of various game mechanics in a variety of games. Let me know if you think I could be helpful.
Best to PM me your e-mail address, I don't know how often I'll check in here.
