Posting something takes a minute to finish.
Seems to be getting worse as time goes on.

Yes, it seems to be taking 10 to 20 seconds to refresh a page, or when you click post a replay, before the edit screen comes up. And then when you hit Submit, another 10 to 20 second delay. Or when you click on a red notification message and then click on the unread message another 10-20 seconds till it loads.

Time outs, bad gateway errors, extremely slow. I have quit posting my AAR, I will not try 3 or more times to post something.

Bad gateway error, second try to post

It seems that the response time has gotten much better and I have not had any bad gateway errors for a while.

Everyone should note that I have always had a short fuse and now in my 70s it has gotten much shorter. :o

Personally, I really don't like new type of site. Let me explain why, for example:
1. Look at old site in Scenarios available for WitP AE theme, you could see title of the chapters, which was very convenient and explanatory:
Image
The new site does NOT have this: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 8&t=220443

2. On old site, every post had a number. This is sometimes convenient for searching for something else:
Image
The new site does NOT have this:

3. The old site had more posts per page, making theme more compact.
The new site has fewer posts, which increases the number of pages and makes it harder to find, copy, and save, etc...

4. And most important thing: After many years of using the old site, we got used to it as if it were our own. Yes, maybe old site wasn't perfect, but it's no better now. Nothing particularly good appeared, but only got worse as I described above.
Now there is nostalgia for old site, where we felt at home. on new site, we are like green newbies visiting ... Unpleasant.

I do not understand modern trend to change everything for NO reason. And most importantly, everything new only gets worse. Silly and annoying. Sorry, but this is my personal opinion.

Question: Is it possible to open pages through the old site? Unfortunately, I don't think so.

Edward75, the posts do have an ID#, not displayed but you can copy it and paste it into a post. It is in the properties of the little red or gray 'page with dog-eared corner' icon just before the poster's name. Right click on it.

The old forum format should not be available because the Matrix Site would have deleted that Bulletin Board software when the new BBS became stable. However the content of the old forums was saved and should be available. I agree that the old forum had a more intuitive way of referencing posts, but the new forum gives better features in other areas like appending multiple pictures in a post.

Why doesn't the "Users browsing this forum" feature work yet after 6 months on the new software? It still only shows me and x guests. It never shows anyone else who is browsing.

Mike, I think the other users have to make a setting that allows their presence to be reported. The default is anonymous browsing.

Sometimes I can add a .jpg picture, other times it will not accept a .jpg picture but it will accept a different .jpg picture. I can't load MP4 videos, what format do they need to be in?

Two of three pictures showing of some snacks that I made . . .

It looks like messages are getting stuck in the outbox and not actually being sent.

I keep losing my log-in status. If my computer hibernates, I may lose it. If I switch between the a game and my browser, I may lose it. Sometimes I will lose it even though I did not leave the browser but went to a different site.

Catching up on reading a forum, have set posts to ascending date order. The trouble is on my cell phone browser there is no return to forum link, wanting to see the forum page at the previous/next thread. Is this possible?

Any suggestions?

What's the best way to opt-out from the "IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS" on the User Control Panel and from the "ANNOUNCEMENTS" section for the vieforum page ?

I find both disrupting my flow and not improving my experience as a forum user.

+1 - just too many and too old announcement spamming almost one third of every forum section. Some of those are of April and May, they need to be cleaned out.
