Re: New Forum Tips and Issues
Hi everyone,
We've been working through all the feedback in this thread and I wanted to share a quick update.
1. The forum font and font size have been improved.
2. Some of the other formatting issues with extra bars appearing between announcement and sticky posts have been resolved.
3. We are working to limit/expire the pinned global announcements.
4. We are investigating issues with accounts being logged out frequently (this seems to be due to IP address changes) and posts sometimes not being marked as read accurately
5. We've changed the default forum format to "wide" instead of the previous narrow.
6. We are working on a new set of thread icons/symbols which will be more clear and colorful as far as the status of each thread.
Regards,
- Erik

Thanks for letting us know Erik, I did notice the font sizes being improved and was not sure if it was me doing a zoom on my browser which I did not remember doing lol. So glad its not me and just improved!

Re: New Forum Tips and Issues
I have set the notifications settings that I want to receive an email as soon as someone posts a new topic or reply in forums/topics to which I have subscribed.
But for the 3rd or 4th time since the new forum was launched, I have again the problem that I do not receive the email notifications.

Thank you.
As far as "We are investigating issues with accounts being logged out frequently (this seems to be due to IP address changes) . . . " goes for me, I use the same computer and the same wireless access point. However, it is not my account but is provided free by the apartment management. That might or might not be the problem but I have noticed that when I go to use programs such as WITP:AE, sometimes I am logged out and sometimes I am not logged out. Also, when my computer hibernates I frequently logged out. So it is probable the wireless system here for me that is changing something if I am not using the system frequently enough.

Re: New Forum Tips and Issues
I'm new to the forums and I couldn't find an answer to these questions/issues for Distant Worlds 2 anywhere, so I'm asking here.
I think the A.I. needs some new options added in and a bit of tweaking when it comes to constantly suggesting courses of action that one would rather never be bothered with again. For some of us, giving A.I. full autonomy on certain things is not an option but we also don't want to be bombarded with one bad idea after another. There are two primary types of notifications I get which I want to disable or set up a filter to decrease the prevalence of, thus giving me only the ones I actually care about. With all of the pop-up notifications I get from the diplomatic core, military, exploration, or civilian ships being attacked, I can sometimes barely have time to enjoy the game while I am bombarded by what greatly resembles spam in some ways.
First, lets talk about unwanted diplomatic communications and suggestions. Particularly in mid- to late-game, and because I like to play with lots of factions including pirates and legit empires, I have the A.I. and people calling me up and suggesting trades or treaties that I really couldn't care less about. A new diplomacy setting on certain factions like "ignore" or "maintain current relations only" would be ever so helpful. When set to automated with those settings, perhaps then the A.I. would simply ignore those factions when they try to contact me and/or would only maintain the current diplomatic agreements I have set up. Once I get a non-aggression treaty with a pirate, I never want to talk to them again unless they go hostile again, for example.
Second, I unfortunately have lots of civilian ships which come under fire from space monsters all the time, and particularly more frequently in large galaxies or when space creatures are turned up to a high setting. It can take a while for my military to mop them up. The irony is my civilian ships usually automatically escape from such creatures with no problems, but by the time I have zoomed in on the ship in question and determined it is in no real danger before it jumps out of the area, my attention has been diverted unnecessarily for too long. What I want is a new setting where I no longer get a notification when a space creature is moving aggressively toward my ships, but instead I want a notification when a ship has actually taken damage. Better yet, a method of telling civilian ships to automatically avoid areas with reported space monsters at all costs would be very nice.
Third, it would be extremely helpful if certain notification types had a different notification sound or better yet, could be assigned a different notification sound of my choice. Then I could more easily figure out what is important to pay attention to and what is not. Then I could more easily distinguish between a prompt to build a new resource base and a massive incoming hostile fleet based on sound alone.
It would be great if I could get some positive feedback on these issues. If I've missed something and there are settings in the game to allow me to make these changes now, please let me know in as 'diplomatic' a way as possible.

Panzer corps 2 1945 battle of Berlin
Maybe this does not belong here. However how do you play this senario when supply runs out on turn 15 or 16?

Look up the Panzer Corps 2 forum and ask there.bismark2010 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 3:48 pm Maybe this does not belong here. However how do you play this senario when supply runs out on turn 15 or 16?

Re: New Forum Tips and Issues
I just came back to the forum after being used to the old one and i found it is currently slower.
PS: why there is need to click in "Post reply" to open a window to make a post when every other forum . and the former forum - already have ready a space to start to write?

Re-posting this as my old report month ago may have been missed
in the "GG War in the West forum" https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... hp?f=10555 - there's an invalid link to buy Operation Torch DLC
in the first forum section the long textlink below "The War Room" is bad + a duplicate of the link slightly below
