Pictures of Combat Engineer Vehicles

Post by sPzAbt653 »

Post pictures of your favorite Combat Engineer Vehicles!

I think all soldiers have the difficult jobs, but Combat Engineers are a little more difficult, having to do engineering tasks while under fire. Well, its what they signed up for, I bet they like it. Especially those that get to cat around in this Stryker M1132 Engineer Squad Vehicle [ESV].

While taking in this photo, I noticed what looks like [from a civilian's perspective] an air horn. Probably it is some sort of high tech military device. Maybe some one here has some experience with this vehicle and can confirm what this is.

During the Cold War, US Engineers used a vehicle known as the Mobile Assault Bridge for bridging operations. There was a bridging unit on the kaserne I was stationed at, out of water they were huge ungainly vehicles. It was pretty neat watching the engineers doing their thing during exercises.

It a high tech device. A sonic wave distribution system used for collision avoidance. You press a button and it makes a loud noise that tells people to get out of the way.

I have an update on this.

A friend of mine can confirm that this is indeed a horn. So, mystery solved.
