This may have been answered before, but the maual states that Night Fighters can perform CAP, but the only option for them is LRCAP, also when operating at night they have no stand down option why is this so

No idea why there is no stand down option, however, LRCAP/CAP are basically the same thing, at least in the game. If you don't want your fighters wandering too far from your ships or bases, just set the range down to 1 or 2.

Why is there no secondary mission for "port attack", "ground attack", "airfield attack" etc? Why does a unit on LRCAP have to use 100% so that let's say, the 1 CV TF the game FORCES the Allied player to use can't provide LRCAP without denuding itself of CAP. Answer is willy nilly design. Making soup out of what is in the fridge and not according to plan(recipe)....makes good soup but makes a mess out of a wargame.

Gary

from page 116 of manual long rage cap over Air combat TF are only 20% as effective as other units.

Also number of planes protecting friendly unit is based on range/ normal range of planes.
