Just wondering how it was going with the beta testing and any idea when it might be released?

An update is nearly ready to go. There are two known bugs left to kill (we hope that is all) - the Secure PBEM bug that a few have mentioned (don't know if it will be killed or the feature removed from the game) and a Axis defensive fighter bug against USAAF raids that is effecting fighter range and numbers of interceptors. This should be fixed in the next couple of days, I think. ------------------ Rick Bancroft Semper Fi

The current plan is to fix the Secure PBEM bug before the next release. However, I don't know how hard of a bug to find and fix it is going to be - currently, the problem is that the feature is bypassing all but the move and combat phases, so there are no replacements, supplies, etc making it to the units. I only mentioned possible removal in the case where it might be a time-consuming bug to find and fix. It has not been fixed as of yet, and thus not tested. I know that Matrix is planning on fixing it, though. BTW, the interceptor bug is fixed now and tested. Rick Bancroft [This message has been edited by RickyB (edited October 06, 2000).]

I personally have no problems removing this option. After all, if you don't trust the guy, why are you playing such a long game with him?

I agree with sw30. Most wargamers are quite honest, it's a necessity of the game.

If fixing the Secure PBEM bug will signifanctly delay the release of 2.1, I vote that you remove the feature or save the fix for 2.2. George

Well, we have turned up two new bugs this weekend that still need fixed - 1941 blizzard effects are carrying over at least into 1942, and in some situations (probably just from excessive losses?) the Axis have korps once in awhile that have been destroyed but still have divisions assigned to them. Deploy the korps and it already has divisions in it! Never ever saw this second one before. ------------------ Rick Bancroft Semper Fi

Well if the game is OK except for the PBEM bug I'd like them to release it without that feature and save it for vesion 2.2
