What I don't understand is why Shrapnel still doesn't sell that 101st Airborne game.

I had tried for two years to buy it, but with no luck.

They could even package it along with the 82nd Airborne game and sell them both.

Well to be honest the game had a few flaws. At times it was quite the most tedious experience going. However the new game seems to have solved amajor issue which is they are bringing in a move all option. It used to take about 1 hour to move your troops through two fields with nothing at all happening.

I see.

Still, if it's the same game engine, I wonder why they didn't update the 101st game?

The game was set for release in June 2000

But Shrapnel had other priorities. They went into board gaming and id a lot of work on science fiction.

Together with the delay, I expect they haven’t taken advantage of the latest technology to make the best possible game.

Its a great shame. The game has potential. It is the one aspect missing in the current wargaming portfolio

Unfortunately the graphics will be circa 1998 and this will take away from the ambiance

I can't resist this, sorry...

The only "press" quote on the front cover of the UK (JustPlay) edition of Titans of Steel is;

"Titans of Steel comes highly recommended", from ? Yup, you got it

She was talking about the freeware version, though.
