So user emckini1 posted a question that was better handled by tech support regarding issues saving scenarios with PE 1.15.5 after extensive inputs into a scenario. I am currently using the same version, (Version 2 has render problems on my system and is all but unusable) --a different issue!
I have the same problem in not being able to save quite frequently.
This happens for saving a scenario, saving game states (after some execution) AND saving XML exports. Nothing saves. Message appears stating that it is saving, then all too soon it disappears with out an error message, and nothing was written to the disk. The frequency is about 50% of the time with the scenarios that I am creating and using.
The scenarios have on the order of 3000 units and quite literally hundreds of generated events (may be close to 100).
In addition to this, frequently, but not always, the XML Scenario Import hangs the program after starting to write the target file (0 bytes) No error message is produced.
Of note, we discovered that if you enter the command "print(ScenEdit_ExportScenarioToXML())" into the lua console, sometimes it produces a nil object error, sometimes it prints the XML to the console. Generally, when it prints to the console, subsequent calls to XML export will work. When it fails in the console, attempting it again without the containing print() will hang the program. Restarting Command sometimes corrects the issue about hanging on XML export.
