Hello to our German friends or any numismatist.

Many years ago I was given five "Reichsbanknote" a 50,000 mark, a 10,000 mark, a 1,000 mark, 20 mark and a 10 mark. The notes are dated 19 Nov 1922, 19 Jan 1922, 9 Feb 1920, 20 Feb 1918 and 15 Dec 1922.

Does anybody know if they are worth anything?

cheers
john

If they are in uncirculated pristine condition, there probably is a collector’s value. But, considering that during the 1920’s marks were printed by the bushel; the collector market is probably flooded with bank notes. It’s a supply vs demand thing.

Regards

IIRC in the 1920's the German economy was going through a massive inflation and I remember hearing a story about a thief that stold a lady's basket, dumped all the money it held at her feet and abscouned with her basket. So those notes MIGHT be worth something but then again maybe not. I donno.

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note207354.html will give you an idea of the variation in price demanded for the 50,000 mark note. As mentioned, it all depends on what condition the banknote is in.

Cheers
