The manual implies that the AI puts up a better fight at 110 or higher. Is this because?

(1) The AI has gotten a bonuses and therefore is more likely to win the battles which it might lose?

or

(2) The AI will do more advanced strategies not because it is programmed to do them, but simulation of possible outcomes predicts success in battle. So, the AI is more likely separate its forces for encirclement or thrust deep past the front or probe a number of spots knowing that it has a better chance to win a fight despite the time lost probing?

or

(3) The code is written to play different game at that level. So, the code contains statements roughly of the form:

or

If Morale < 110 then
ExecuteUnspiredGeneral()
Else
ExecuteHannibal()
End If

?

Thanks.

I am asking in what sense is the AI a better opponent?

Also, I want to ask it this a linear progression with increasing morale, or more quantum steps?

Thank you.

This is explained in 30.7. Shortly, any change to any of the 4 factors increases the impact of that factor and the chances of successful rolls. But specifically for morale, there are two bright lines. At 110: the AI gets unlimited administrative movement (subject to ZOC) to allow it to more easily form lines. At 120: AI automatically passes all leader checks (which influence a multitude of things as explained throughout the manual). So, there's is a linear impact in the sense that raising morale above 100 (or any of the other 3 factors) gives a bonus to AI, but there's two specific thresholds for morale specifically that enable extra bonuses for AI.

As a new player start with 100 vs 100.
