Has anyone ever managed to save the AOK 6 in Stalingrad?

in testing the best option was to redeploy the axis mobile units to the south of the city and attack on T3 in some force. The Soviet units south of the pocket will be individually weak.

the risk in this (as happened a few times) was a double envelopment that added the Pzrs to the wider pocket

It is almost impossible, IMO, to save 6th Army vs. an alert and knowledgeable opponent. As Loki said, there are a ton of risks for the Axis, with small chance of success. If you can establish contact, maybe you can get 29th Motorized out, since it is the only unit inside with good mobility.

But further along we got in testing, the clearer it was that getting units out is not possible if your opponent knows what he is doing and is alert to the possibility

I was only able to get the 29th Motorized and the 305th Infantry out and the latter had been routed out of the pocket in a very weak state. Only had about 10% TOB. I was playing against the AI.

I managed to get most of it out against the AI, but that was quite a few versions back and included one or two lucky rolls, as well as taking advantage of AI deficencies. Cutting off the enemy spearhead with ant units was the key.
