Thanks for the links! I've downloaded and am reading Cole's book. It is very well written and I'll probably end up buying a hard copy for the bookshelf, Amazon has it in new paperback listed as $27.99 (USD).

If you can buy the hardcover, I buy the paperback but is without the maps !
(So I made a colour print of the pdf maps)

Hitler’s Last Gamble, Dupuy
A Time for Trumpets, MacDonald
The Bitter Woods, Eisenhower (John)

It is unfortunate that I don’t have any German book on the topic.
Prefer reading about the German side in German books.

Dupuy is always an interesting read.
