I need a little bit of help, understanding Support.

Support means Support Squads within a unit, right?

So when looking an first picture with a CU, on the left (1) is the number of men (Support Squad) within this unit and the need of men in this unit

(2) shows the details to this men shown at (1), as I see, die 529 is the same at (1) and (2)

But now coming to the HQ in my second screenshot. Here is (1) not equal (2) - why is this? Can you please explain it to me? Do I unterstand these numbers all wrong?

With (3-5), I read in manual but it is not clear for me what these numbers mean exactly.

As I understand..
(3) Is the total Support men (Squad) in all the CUs (units) assigned to this HQ + the HQs own Support men shown at (1)
(4) Is the total Support men in all CUs assigned to this HQ only without HQs own Support
(5) Is the amount of Support men which all assigned CUs need without HQs own Support

Is my understanding of these values correct? Please tell me if i was wrong.
Thanks!

1 - yes, that is the organic support squads in the unit

2 - picks up this but also adds (after the /) how many support squads that unit needs to operate optimally (453)

3 - so it needs no extra from its HQ chain

so that ends the process.

If you go to a HQ counter, you'll see something like:

this tells you a bit more about how the wider command chain is functioning, as:

quote:

• Total Support: Total support used (organic plus HQ help) by units in the chain of command under this HQ during last logistics phase.

• Organic Support: Total available support squads in units in the chain of command under this HQ during last log phase

• Total Support Need: Total support needed by units in the chain of command under this HQ during last log phase

Thanks loki, but still cannot understand how the value 248 in second screen (HQ) is calculated. Why 248? I thought it should be 12 HQs organic support ?!?

that is the number of support squads in that particular unit, so a HQ will use some for itself and the extras (if available and needed) sent down the command chain.

so a German corps TOE has 250 support squads, you have 2 damaged, leaving 248. In this case it needs (& uses) 12 for itself - logistics, hospital, signals etc and the other 236 are available for Combat Units in its command chain.
