i strongly prefer smaller maps like the planetoid or even moon map. because the turns are faster and you are more likely to interact with all the rest of the world

Its a shame that this lock me out of playing on any of the 'regular' Classes of planets and would very much appreciate if there would be a map size option 'small' or 'extra small' (the size of planetiod / moon) on the normal class worlds.

Agree. It would also be nice to have the reverse option of having a very cold airless moonscape planet be available in large size if you want the game to last into endgame tech. (Not unrealistic since the planet's atmosphere could be blown away by a passage close to a star, a nearby supernova, or simply freeze if it was knocked out of orbit)
