I was surprised to discover in the game I just started that full strength German corps sitting in West Wall hexes seem to have weak zones of control. How come? I have not seen any reference in the Game Manual or in the patch notes to fortifications reducing the ZOCs from strong to weak for friendly units occupying them. Is this the case? And if so, what's the thinking behind this exception to the ZOC rules?

Fun fact, Corps have weak ZoCs, inside or outside of fortifications!

You are right. I can't believe I did not notice this before. I have been operating under the assumption the ZOC rules are the same in this game as in SC:WW1 which I learned to play first. Yet the Game Manual for War in Europe says clearly that Corps are Front Line units which should have a full zone of control (provided they have a strength level of 5 or higher). Was the manual always incorrect, or was this changed in a patch after release?

Division and Corps units were originally classed as Front Line units, but to make things more mobile they were moved to Second Line with patch v1.16.00.
