Hi,
It has been a while since I played CMAO last time... I understand we have a new version of CMAO called CMO, is that correct?
If yes, could you please explain in a few words - how different CMAO is from CMO?

Yes, that's right.

For play purposes, CMO is quite similar to CMANO, and you should have no difficulty transitioning from one to the other. There have been a few modest changes to the user interface, but nothing that will prevent you from recognizing what's going on, or playing like you did before. The biggest single change you will find is that it runs much more quickly and smoothly for large scenarios, which is very pleasing, and there is also the option to set up a Tacview interface (a separate product), to see your operations in 3D. There have also been a large number of incremental improvements in everything from mineclearing, to doppler radar performance, to troop transport, to aircraft flight models, missile guidance modes, and on and on. Far too many for me to list!

So if you would like a game like CMANO, which runs quicker, smoother, and simulates many features in more detail, then I think you will enjoy CMO.

In simple terms, CMO is more future-proof. What you're paying for in terms of the upgrade from CMANO to CMO is the opportunity for more varied content in the future. The Broken Shield 300 and Aegean In Flames LIVE scenarios have already provided a taste of what's to come and there's even been some hints of the ability to support more WWII scenarios in the future. Hell, there may even be some new campaigns, which I am definitely looking forward to.

Eboreg,

I know all about Broken Shield 300's attribute, and I own Aegean In Flames but I have never played it. What, specifically, are you referring to in Aegean In Flames? What is special about Aegean In Flames?

Thanks,

DWReese, I've got to be honest, I don't own Aegean in Flames I just used it as an example of "scenarios you can play in C:MO but not C:MANO".

NP...I was just wondering what you had seen, that I had missed. It's a very involved scenario. I thought that I may have missed something. Thanks for your honesty. I keeps me from hours of trying to look for it.
