It would be nice if there was a way to leave a message to your opponent when you surrender or resign a game. I would have liked to thank my recent opponents for playing well and to offer some thoughts on the game events. instead, hit the button and boom...gone!

Just wanted to say well done. The operation (Gazala cauldron) is unusual in that the Axis finds itself in the middle of the enemy mid-operation. It required decisive action to take the initiative on my part but I am not rommel so could not press home my initial advantage early on...(supply was also a problem). Historically General Richie as 8th army commander dithered for days and lost any advantage to counter attack - you sir, were not so indecisive and were focused from the get go. By the time i realized my folly/vulnabilty, it was too late and the thought of just regrouping (to attack 150th brigade/50th Div) for the remaining turns would be dull for you. It was already too late to reach any conclusive result (has anyone in this scenario?), so good game and well done. See you on the battlefield next time. Thanks to the devs also for such a great title of such epic early WW2 early desert war battles.

Yes, it was nice!
I have to reckon I knew "the Cauldron" favoured Allies but I wanted to test myself against a human for my first time cause I used to win too easy against AI... and it´s so better multiplayer in my opinion!

I have a question for you: why did you withdraw your units after cut off Gazala-Tobruk road? In that key moment the whole XIII corps was unsupplied and useless for counterattack... and I didn´t find any solution! Fortunately for me you turned back to the South and I could pressure hard against the "cauldron"...

Great flavour simulating these thrilling moments!

Cheers

Ha, that's a very good question. Put simply, I lost my focus, and realized i did not have a clear plan from the get go. I felt vulnerable to my exposed flank. I also had supply issues and it took me many turns to break thu those minefields to the south west to restore my supply. Interesting what you say about your supply...supply is subject to fog of war like everything else. At that point, i was not thinking about supply but about combat power and unit cohesion.
To sum up:
I should have planned better, took more time to eval the changing situation, and paid more attention to supply!

I think supply might be the greatest factor!

GG

PS. If you would like to start another scenario i would be interested. Something long lasting, over months (to xmas or even after), 1 turn a week (even less sometimes...or more, 2 max. Time is not issue as i work and have several other PBEMs on the go) then i am up for it. Take your time and think about it. Drop me a line at martin0691@gmail.com..or not, whatever.

Interesting!
Yes, I agree, supply is almost everything!

Ok, I´m interested with your game conditions... I´m gonna write you PM.

Cheers!
